91 cases of appendicitis was studied pathohistologically and the number or lymph follicle and it´s attitide following the types of appendicitis was observed.
The conclusion were as follows:
1) Ave. age=26.8 yrs old M:F=53.38
Peak incidence was between 20 and 30 yrs.
Most common type was acute phlgmonous type of 40 cases and monst less common type was lymphoid hyperplasia in children of 2 cases.
2) In the number of lymph follicle following the types of appendicitis,
Lymphoid hyperplasis in children was revealed the largest number and perforative type was revealed the least number of lymph follicle.
Then the number of lymph follicle in other types come acute catarrhal, acute phlegmonous type, chronic type and acute gangrenous type in that order.
Except the severe inflammatory process, the No. of lymph follicle under the 40 yrs old was appeared to be somethat increased in it´s number, but after 40 yrs old was appeared to be decreased relatively.
4) In attitude of lymph follicle following the types of appendicitis,
Hyperplasis & Hypertrophy was always appeared in acute catarrhal type and lymph-oid hyperplasia in children markedly.
Otherwise, Atrophy was revealed usually in acute gangrenous type and acute perforative type.
Germinal center in lymph follicle was almost outstanding feature in lymphoid hyperplasia in children and acute catarrhal type, and usually was not revealed in acute gangrenous type, chronic type and acute plegmonous type. Boundary of lymph follicle was well bounded in lymphoid hyperplasia in children.
Acute gangrenous type, acute perforative and chronic was almost obscured in it´s boundary.
Falling-off of lymph follicle was appeared markedly in acute catarrhal type, and almost was not appeared in other type.
Hemorrhage in lymph follicle was revealed most commonly in acute gangrenous type.
